Join our friends at BRIT to welcome spring, and take part in an event that promises professional growth and renewed energy, as you engage in a day of exploration, discovery, collaboration, and deeper knowledge acquisition. The Wonders of Wildflowers, developed and presented by
Linda Watts, Early Childhood Specialist, and Pam Chamberlain, Education Specialist, for the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, allows teachers of young children a chance to spend the day at BRIT learning ways to support your curriculum, while making meaningful connections to science, literacy, and nature through your outdoor classroom.

This experiential program is an opportunity to collaborate, network, and grow. It will have you wondering about the botany of wildflowers and their important role in our environment. Strategies for helping your students with vocabulary acquisition will blossom, as BRIT becomes a part of your professional learning cycle!
The Wonder of Wildflowers will provide:
- interactive activities and strategies that support TEA's Revised Prekindergarten Guidelines, the Texas School Ready!™ program and the Head Start Domains;
- the opportunity to acquire six hours of CPE credits;
- examples of effective methods and practices to manage young children in outdoor exploration and discovery;
- inquiry based learning strategies that can naturally be integrated into any early childhood curriculum;
- effective ways to bridge outdoor exploration and discovery with your indoor learning centers;
- morning and afternoon refreshments;
- an optional free guided tour of BRIT’s new Platinum LEED Certified building following the workshop.
Each participant will also receive a copy of the Sunflower House by Eve Bunting.
