    REAL School Gardens was proud to partner with Whole Foods during the grand opening celebration for the company's flagship North Texas store. On Wednesday, March 17, Whole Foods chose REAL School Gardens as the recipient of its 1% Day event, a community sponsorship program through which a local nonprofit organization receives 1% of the store's sales for the day. As a part of the event, REAL School Gardens staff members Jeff Cross, Matt Hackler, Nancy Payne and Ellen Robinson shared information about our program with dozens of interested community members.     Alex Sanger Elementary School hosted REAL School Gardens' first REAL People Networking Event in Dallas on February 24, 2010. David Sobel, an educational innovator and leader in the field of place-based learning, discussed the benefits of outdoor learning and described some of the innovative ways schools and communities across the country are improving education through place-based educational strategies.
