Special thanks to those who keep our garden growing:
2012 REAL School Gardens Community Outreach Award for Smart Potatoes
WHAT A TEACHER IS SAYING...
"Our garden helps make connections for the students in a variety of ways. When our students learned about the water cycle, they could see it happening in our garden. It was the best example of transpiration that we have ever been able to do! Our students have enjoyed spending time in the garden watching plants grow and measuring and comparing growth. When it snowed, students were out in the garden measuring amounts of snowfall in different areas. They were also anxious to see which plants survived and didn't survive our extreme winter. Students have been able to take things from the garden and tape them in their science notebooks and write about them. It has made so many things 'real' to them and not just a picture they see in a book." - Holli Hall, Math / Science Instructional Facilitator
"Many of our students have a new respect for the natural beauty a spring garden can give us! They were amazed!" - Veda Knox Educator
WHAT A STUDENT IS SAYING...
