James Bowie Learning Garden Design
A TEACHER SAYS...
My class and I just came in spending an hour out in our garden. Due to a grant I received from Donors Choose, each child had a magnifying glass or a magnifying specimen box that we used to observe the insect life that has set up ‘homes’ in our garden. The kids saw so much, our sunflower is now twice my height, we dug up a potato to observe the root growth, picked the jalapenos and tomatoes, and one lonely strawberry.
The upshot of the whole thing is that we watched a ‘worm’ exit out a hole in one of the tomatoes, which really had an impact! I hope to get the kids out again on Monday and take some pictures for them.
I can’t thank your organization enough for giving us the means to provide these types of opportunities to our kids.
I can’t thank you enough for your help and guidance over the last few years!
Happy summer to you!
